UN38.3 Lithium Battery Test:

Experior Labs provides testing to UN/DOT 38.3 requirements, to ensure the safety of lithium batteries.
Nearly all lithium batteries are required to pass section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria (UN Transportation Testing).

All cell types shall be subjected to tests T.1 to T.6 and T.8. All non-rechargeable battery types, including those composed of previously tested cells, shall be subjected to tests T.1 to T.5. All rechargeable battery types, including those composed of previously tested cells, shall be subjected to tests T.1 to T.5 and T.7. fu addition, rechargeable single-cell batteries with overcharge protection shall be subjected to test T.7. A component cell that is not transported separately from the battery it is pa1t of needs only to be tested according to tests T.6 ai1d T.8. A component cell that is transported separately from the battery shall be subjected to tests T.1 to T.6 and T.8. A cell or battery that is an integral part of the equipment it is intended to power that is transported only when installed in the equipment, may be tested in accordance with the applicable tests when installed in title equipment.
