Environmental Testing

Purpose of Environmental Testing 01 Purpose of Environmental Testing 02

Environmental testing verifies and ensures that your manufactured components, modules, products, and systems meet the performance requirements of their intended target application. Experior Laboratories provides a comprehensive suite of capabilities that is designed to simulate a host of real world environments. Such environments can include high and low temperatures with or without humidity, mechanical stress, pressure, vacuum, vibration, shock and many others. Various industries define and standardize on a somewhat common set of environments in order to ensure that manufactured products for that industry will function reliably under such standardized conditions.

The US government provides a comprehensive portfolio of such industry specific standards in its set of MIL-Standards. Examples of such MIL-Standards that Experior Labs routinely tests to are

MIL-STD-810 Test Method Standard for Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests
MIL-STD-202 Test Method Standard for Electronic and Electrical Component Parts
MIL-STD-883 Test Method Standard for Microcircuits
MIL-STD-750 Test Method Standard for Semiconductor Devices

In many cases the unique service environment for a specific product requires the definition of a custom set of environmental conditions. Experior Labs supports its customer base and the industry at large through the creation and accommodation of such unique environmental and mechanical conditions. While Experior Labs generally supports all industries through its environmental testing capabilities, it has demonstrated a leadership position in testing of fiber optic components, electrical connectors and harnesses, and components for harsh aerospace and space environments.
